Well not that long before our Surface Stitchery workshop with Brenda Scarman – the fabric, a linen and cotton mix has been dyed – the photo is of the wet fabric on the line. It does look very bright as it is wet – it will dry to more muted softer shades, as can be seen in the photo of the some of the sample squares cut out ready for the workshop.
We enjoyed a wonderfully productive and inspiring meeting today. Four of our own members ran mini workshops, Felt flower brooches with Jenny, Folded origami flowers with Sarah, Little cuff books with Tina, and Take one Stitch with Vicki.
‘Business’ was taken care of very quickly, then we all got to work. The room was alternatively quiet, then raucous as we listened to the tutors and then worked on our own pieces. The atmosphere at Stitchcraft is informal with tea and coffee available from the café, either to drink in peace or bring into the studio.
There are photos to look at giving a snapshot of our morning, click on the like at the side of the blog to view. Next time I will try to remember to take photos at the end of the morning showing our work. I was busy getting on with my little cuff book today and forgot 🙂
Lots of us stayed for lunch in the café on site and many enjoyed a peaceful afternoon sitting and stitching, with chat and coffee.
